After working in different companies, we decided to join the best guide from differents companies and take not the conventional route in our treks and staying in homestay. The name of this tour operator is CARLITOS TOURS because he was the first guide with this idea

The main different between this company “CARLITOS TOURS”:

We pay more to the locals for any service that we asked
We spend the nights in different locals families in different locals communities (homestay) like RUFINA family, ELVA family, MODESTO family and MARUJA family (not lodge, not hostel)
We hike to other communities, not only the most popular for tourist, we also go other communities, where the other tour operator they don’t go
We do some activities with locals people to be closer to them for example: we walk with them and we pick up some fruit from their farm, the tourist can dress up like locals and we can grind cereals or cook with them if you really like (for sure if you like you will do it but if you wouldn’t like, it will be fine)
Our meals are 100 percent organic and fresh, you will have the chance to see our guides also cooking for you (if you are vegetarian, you will have vegetables if you would like meat you will have meat)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We usually recommended to travel to colca canyon early in the morning because we can have time to hike and we can spend the night in real locals communities (they are location in farther places )

His charm and passion for his culture brings it alive and his specialty is the Inca Empire. He is fluent in English and has a degree from SAN AGUSTIN UNIVERSTITY in AREQUIPA. He used to work in differents big companies, and now he has the chance to work in this tour operator which really wants to do something different The idea he has is to take different route, pay more to the locals,staying in homestay and improve the service He thinks the tourist want a guide who can also be friendly, honest, helpful, responsible, and really trusty and an overwhelming passion for our profession He is also an experience chef. Everyone (tourists, locals, and guides) plays an important role at Carlitos Tours Carlitos Tours aims to integrate social work into the framework of our tours. With more than 7 years in the tourism industry working with a variety of companies, we have the experience necessary to help tourists looking for volunteer opportunities. We believe helping out schools, orphanages, hospitals, charities, etc… Should be free. While working at other tour companies, we often saw tourist looking for various way to help the local communities but first having to pay the agency. We don’t think that’s right. Our goal is to help volunteers by putting them in direct contact with the locals. Our agency will not receive any money for the placement. If a tourist doesn’t speak Spanish then one of our guides will help translate. This is a dynamic program. The tourist will have the opportunity to visit the community’s school, hospital, and orphanage during their tour so they can truly see firsthand how they are supporting our local communities.
